NSIC ( National Small Industries Corporation ) is an ISO 9001:2015 certified enterprise under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), Government of India (GoI). NSIC was established to promote and encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises across the country. 

Currently, NSIC operates in all the states of India through its technical centres and offices. It also has set up Training-cum-Incubation Centres (NSIC-TICs), managed by professionals to train people on various skill sets. In addition, it has entrenched sustainable relationships with other developing countries located in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Region. 

What are the schemes offered by National Small Industries Corporation?

MoMSME has specially curated NSIC schemes to cater for the needs of MSMEs. Here are the schemes in detail,

Single Point Registration Scheme

NSIC enrols the MSMEs under a Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS) to enable the enterprises to participate in the Government Purchases and benefit from various policies introduced under the Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs).

Bank Credit Facilitation Scheme

To aid the MSMEs with meeting their credit requirements, NSIC has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with various public and private sector banks. Not limited to it, NSIC also provides free handholding support to the MSMEs throughout the credit application process. 

Raw Material Assistance Scheme

Under this scheme, NSIC offers credit to the MSMEs to purchase raw materials, including indigenous and imported ones. And thus, assisting them to produce high-quality products by making expensive and scarce raw materials available. It also takes charge of the documentation and the letter of credit if the raw materials are imported from other countries. 

Consortia and Tender Marketing Scheme

MSMEs often find it difficult to compete with giant enterprises when receiving and fulfilling large orders. Therefore, NSIC has created different consortiums or associations of MSMEs producing the same product or products to help them take down large enterprises as a single unit. NSIC applies for tenders for the entire consortium, and the MSMEs fulfil the orders as per their production capacity. 

Infomediary Services Scheme

As per this scheme, NSIC provides infomediary services, such as website creation, information about events and exhibitions, customer acquisition, lead generation, among others, to the MSMEs.

Exhibitions and Event Management Cell

NSIC has a dedicated Exhibition Complex located in South Delhi, where it organises various exhibitions and events, like product launches, conferences, award shows, fashion shows, etc., to promote the MSMEs. Apart from this, the Event Management Cell (EMC) of NSIC conducts various other events across the country.

Marketing Assistance Scheme

The Marketing Intelligence Cell (MIC) collects and analyses information to understand MSMEs’ market and potential customers. It provides the MSMEs with product based databases of bulk buyers, government departments and PSUs, Indian exporters, suppliers, and other market intelligence reports. 

Technology Incubation Scheme Under Private-Public Partnership (PPP) 

NSIC has set up 94 NISC-TICs under the PPP model to offer training facilities to help unemployed people build small businesses in manufacturing or service sectors or find employment opportunities. 

National Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub

The National SC/ST Hub (NSSH) offers professional guidance to people belonging to the SC/ST category to help them grow their business and participate in public procurement processes. 

Who Can Obtain NSIC Registration? 

The applicants must meet the following NSIC eligibility criteria. 

  • Applicants must be a citizen of India.
  • Applicants must have an MSME Certificate or Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM).
  • The enterprise must be operational for at least one year.
  • Micro enterprises must have invested up to INR 25 lakh in plant and machinery or INR 10 lakh in services. 
  • Small enterprises must have invested up to INR 5 crore in plant and machinery or INR 2 crore in services. 

NSIC Registration Criteria

MSMEs involved in the manufacturing or service sector can obtain NSIC registration both online and offline. 

  1. NSIC Registration Online Apply Process


    1. Visit the official website of Udyam Registration to obtain the Udyam Registration Number.
    2. Next, visit the official website of MSME Databank and register yourself using Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) Number and PAN for single-point registration.
    3. Fill up the form with the required information.
    4. Upload all the relevant documents needed.
    5. Pay the registration fee online.
    6. Collect the NSIC certificate sent by post and keep it safe. 

  2. NSIC Registration Offline Apply Process


    1. Visit the nearest NSIC office and ask for the registration form for single-point registration. You can also download the registration from the official website of MSME Databank.
    2. Fill in all the required information in the form.
    3. Attach all the required documents.
    4. Pay the registration fee and submit the document to the NSIC officer.
    5. Collect the NSIC certificate sent by post and keep it safe.

NSIC Certificate Validity

The validity of the NSIC Registration Certificate is of two years. Therefore, the certificate must be renewed every two years, which NSIC will do after proper verification.
